Adventure Racing is one of the fastest growing and most exciting multi-disciplinary sports, with races taking place all across the country and the world. If you have never done a race before, we are here to champion you into an experience that you will never forget. Those of us who race can promise you that you will be hooked from the moment you cross that finish line of your first race and feel the incredible sense of self-empowerment and camaraderie with your teammates.

Adventure Racing requires the right cross-training program to properly prepare. Specifically, cross-training means combining several different fitness activities including biking, running, trekking, skill training, strength & endurance training, core conditioning and even active rest days into a periodized training plan to achieve your goals. Cross training is the best way to achieve a peak level of fitness, prevent over-use injuries and keep your training fun and motivating.

This program is designed for beginner to intermediate athletes who are excited about outdoor sports and want to break into the awesome team sport of Adventure Racing. Whether you have yet to be bitten by the AR bug for the first time…or whether you are an experienced Triathlete looking to crossover into this fast growing sport, this program is for you! It's also for you if you just enjoy the outdoor sport of mountain biking, trail running, kayaking, ropes, navigation and orienteering and you are looking for the best outdoor sports and fitness training program in the San Francisco South Bay area.

Whether you are preparing for your first adventure race or working to improve your adventure racing skills, there are many resources to help you.

Adventure racing requires physical training, skill development and race preparation.

The level of required fitness, amount (and quality) of gear and level of planning depends primarily on the type of race being attempted.

If you are new to adventure racing, "Intro to AR" provides an overview of adventure racing, its history and its most famous races. "AR Gear" provides some thoughts on gear that can make your adventure race easier. "Planning" can be the most critical aspect of longer adventure races -- we have included some strategies that have worked for us. Information on each of the primary disciplines of adventure racing is also provided.
