Ultimate Body Potential offers cutting edge Metabolic Testing to tell you how your metabolism functions at rest and during exercise.
Your ability to heal, move, think and function at your maximal capacity is wholly contingent on how well your metabolism works. Understanding this and getting assessed is the key to unlocking your genetic potential.
Once tested, you will receive a unique training plan based on your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and the Oxygen Assessment (V02).
You will increase your fat burned per workout and raise your overall metabolism (the key to body fat loss.) You will improve your AT (aerobic threshold) and enhance your overall performance while actually de-stressing your cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems.
Testing your RMR will let you know EXACTLY how many calories you burn a day. A low RMR test score will result in very different recommendations for nutrition and exercises than a high score. The V02 test shows you the heart rate at which you burn the most body fat, and likewise, this determines the program you'll need to increase your overall fuel efficiency, body fat burning and metabolic rate.

A metabolic assessment analyzes the volume of oxygen consumed (VO2) and the volume of carbon dioxide produced (VCO2) in a controlled setting to determine the type of fuels your body is using, or your "metabolic profile". A Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) assessment measures the amount of energy used at rest. The RMR is then adjusted by an activity factor to produce the amount of calories you burn in a typical day. Your RMR can be used to identify your caloric intake needs for a weight loss program (e.g. 2000 calories per day).
An exercise metabolic assessment measures the VO2 and VCO2 along with your heart rate during exercise with a gradual increase in intensity until you reach a point sufficient to collect the desired exercise "metabolic profile". Data such as heart rate, oxygen consumed (VO2 Max), and Anaerobic Threshold (AT) are determined and these are used to develop training program for you. Target heart rates are scientifically determined by your metabolic profile during exercise and can be incorporated into a fitness or weight loss training program by your exercise professional.
Metabolic assessments are better than estimates because the program is based on your unique response to exercise. Your exercise professional will have more information from the assessments on how your body is working which leads to more effective nutritional planning and exercise programming.
How are these tests performed?
Each test is administered by a testing professional using a Basic Assessment Kit. This kit will be yours to take with you should you wish to re-test at a later date. Re-testing is recommended after a 3-6 month period of consistent training and/or a dramatic change in cardiovascular fitness or weight gain/loss.
V02 - The VO2 assessment is performed during a simple workout on a treadmill. During the test you will exercise at a pace suitable to your current ability. This test generally takes 15-30 minutes, depending on your unique metabolism and fitness level.
RMR - The RMR assessment is performed while resting comfortably in a chair and takes as few as 10 to 15 minutes and generally no more than 30 to 45 minutes. The measurements obtained establish your resting caloric needs - the precise number of calories your body needs to maintain its basic functions.
